Two very similar foundations have made their way into my makeup collection over the last year. Both intended to offer a dewy, natural finish to the skin, both the Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation and NARS Sheer Glow Foundation help to prevent the cakiness that can occur with an all-over foundation.
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation with SPF 15 is incredibly sheer and offers minimal coverage to let your natural skin texture show through. When I wear it my beloved freckles still have the opportunity to make an appearance. The foundation's consistency is very fluid, which may deter folks, but its 15 SPF might be what balances that out. It can certainly built up, but I imagine it's near impossible to overdo it with this one. I prefer applying it with my fingers and blending out the edges with a brush or Beauty Blender.
NARS Sheer Glow Foundation might just be my perfect base. While I love creamy foundations like the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation or my Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation, this one offers slightly more coverage than Bobbi Brown's without making me feel as though I'm wearing a mask. My natural rosiness and freckles can still be seen, but blemishes and dark circles dissipate when I apply it. The Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Face Brush is absolutely my ideal tool for application.
While both foundations are similar, their distinct qualities could suit very different skin types and preferences. Those wanting little coverage may prefer Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation and those who want more versatility with their foundation might find the NARS Sheer Glow to be a better option.
