Let me be real with you. Even though I've already discussed what I keep in my makeup bag when I'm in a rush, there are only a handful of those products that I actually use when I have close to zero time to do my makeup.
My five product face consists of multi-purpose products that are as versatile as they are flattering. I want to look as alert and put together as possible when I'm rushed. Utilizing fewer products that work in different areas of my face that can be mostly applied with my hands is where it's at.
Eyebrows are a non-negotiable, can't-miss step for me. I feel completely naked and unprepared for the day without filling in my brows' sparse areas. I'm currently trying out the NYX Cosmetics Micro Brow Pencil in Taupe to see how it compares to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, but nothing beats my Hourglass Brow Sculpting Pencil in Soft Brunette when I'm in a hurry.
If I'm truly short on time I may skip foundation all together. Instead I'll use something to cancel the darkness under my eyes that can also double as an eye shadow base. The Tarte Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector in Light/Medium is the perfect salmon color and consistency to reduce any purple or blue under my eyes. I can also use this product as a base for any shadow I decide to use.
The NARS Blush in Madly has proven to be one of my all-time favorite products. It serves three distinct purposes when I'm rushed. I love using it as a blush, but it also works on my skin tone as a contour. In a pinch it even triples as an eyeshadow to give my creases a little definition.
I follow up the shadow application with a long-lasting, waterproof mascara. I'm currently test driving the Fairydrops Scandal Queen Waterproof Mascara, which was 100% influenced by Anna from Vivianna Does Makeup. It holds a curl, defines my lashes and gives me the fluttery doe-eyed look I crave. It's a real jerk to get ahold of in the U.S., but I ordered mine from Amazon with no issues.
Another multi-use product that is new to my collection (thanks to Amazon rewards) is the Jouer Tint in Dahlia. Not only is this cream-to-matte product perfect to brighten up the apples of my cheeks, it also doubles as a lip stain. When my eyes and skin are minimal and light, I love balancing it with a bolder lip to make it appear as though I put much more time and effort into my appearance.
All of these products are sleek, compact and versatile, which makes tossing them in my purse even more convenient should I need touchups throughout the day.
